E07 of the Life in Focus Mini Series takes viewers to the lines of Whistler on one of the world’s premiere action sport stages - Crankworx. We take you behind the scenes with one of the world’s top MTB riders in Sweden's Martin Soderstrom and action/sports visual artist, Daniel Ronnback.
All dynamic duos have something we can’t really explain. It’s a chemistry and understanding that helps both sides perform when it matters. This week’s LIF takes a new spin on things as we explore a relationship between athlete and photographer. The importance of this relationship has been a running theme throughout the series with focus on the critical role that it plays in action sport photography.
Daniel and Martin were kind enough to give us an opportunity to observe and delve into their relationship to get a glimpse of how it works and why they have success. For Daniel, there is always a perspective that has yet to be shot, and as a young photography, is full of fresh ideas and energy to explore. As a premier athlete, Martin has an amazing understanding of what works and is always in search of new ways to have his work captured. Their shared point of view and laid back, fun approach provides their inspiration, and ultimately feeds the results.
Special thanks Anton, Daniel, and Martin for their time and letting us follow.
We're wishing Martin a speedy recovery - looking forward to seeing him next season!
